I’m Naomi Rose, owner of Santa Cruz Officiant. I officiate wedding ceremonies in Santa Cruz County and Big Sur. I’ve officiated more than 400 weddings, from intimate elopements in redwood forests and on coastal cliffs to elaborate celebrations at some of Northern California’s most beautiful venues, including Nestldown, The Holly Farm and Alila Ventana Big Sur.
I’m a warm, intuitive, think-outside-the-box, down-to-earth and highly skilled wedding officiant. I have been called ‘the love magician’ and ‘the marrying fairy,’ but I think of myself as more of a ‘marriage midwife.’ I take couples under my wing, guide them, ground them, and love on them on an emotional, over-before-you-know-it whirlwind of a day. As one bride said: “I had so many emotions and tensions going into this process and Naomi was the most grounded, intuitive, compassionate yet steadfast guide I could’ve ever asked for.”
I've spent the last decade reimagining ceremony for a secular world and specialize in creating real ceremonial moments for secular, atheistic and nontraditional couples without reliance on spiritual subcultures, borrowed traditions, or belief systems that ask them to override their sovereignty.
I believe that a wedding is not simply an event requiring an officiant, but a rite of passage requiring a ceremony. I also believe that if you are going to spend all of that time, energy and money curating the perfect day, you should have a ceremony that reflects that same thoughtfulness and care.
