Does it matter which side of the lake we choose?

Do we need a permit for a ceremony on the shore?

How late in the year is an outdoor ceremony sensible?

What happens if the roads close?
Chain controls and closures over the passes are a normal winter event, not a rare one. Suppliers coming from Reno or Sacramento need travel time built in, and guests need to be told plainly to arrive the day before rather than the morning of.
Is driving around the lake as quick as it looks?
No. The loop is slow in summer traffic and slower in snow, and two venues on opposite shores can be an hour and a half apart in practice. Keep the ceremony, the reception and the rooms on one side unless there is a reason worth that drive.
